Thanks so much Card

Thanks Very Much Card
I have made another card today. This time round, it is accompanied by a video. I did show it to my mum the card and she thinks that it has too much ribbon.
What do you think?

Personally, I do feel it look a little "busy". But I just love the purple ribbon that I just leave it as it is. So to those who hate ribbons which I know some of you do...just leave the ribbon out Wink.

I actually thought of making a male thank you card due to some reasons, but I just really couldn't think of one....I am really a noob at making male cards as I just cant seem to stop myself from adding flowers, and ribbons, and shakers...the list goes on!

Ok. I'll stop my rambling here. Here's my video:

Sending a little note card

Another card I made for my uncle's birthday, which is today actually.

So I am a day late. Reason why is because I just knew it this morning when conversing with my aunt, and she suddenly told me:"Today is san jiu jiu's birthday."

I was like...OH! And from there, she started telling me when is who and who birthday while i began scribbling furiously on my calender to take note.

Not my area of specialty for making masculine card, but I tried to avoid putting some flowers and such, which i am VERY tempted to.!

And ended up with this:

*  *  *

And I am back to the world of books after dying of thirst for books for so long!

I just went back to my nearby local libary to borrow books after like dunno how many weeks! And now, I feel a sense of something (I dunno how to put it...but its a happy feeling, no doubt!)

I am a NERD.

Wishes Shaker Card

I made this shaker card just yesterday when my eyes were threatening to close. It took me nearly 2 to 3 weeks to think and made. Yea. I know it is simple, but I kind of satisfied with it, and given that I actually redo the card 4 times!

Because it is for a good friend who made me a paper plane, and it is really very very well made, including the star war figurine...completely made of paper. So I just want to make something for him in return for his birthday. And oops! I am really late!

Now this card is on its way to solvakia!

Wishes Shaker Card

I really hope he likes it.

I know my BECME videos have been like _____________________ (die).

I actually show the videos to my colleagues and I promise one of them that I'll make a new video making another card by this weekend.

So ha. !

This is for you, garbage girl! ^.^

and oh yea....father's day coming. What should I make for my dad?

Spending $$$ without realizing it

You know something?

I spent over $100 without realizing it yesterday while shopping at Art Friend, and I only bought a few freakin' stamps! Im so sotong lah.... =X

And I know you guys must be thinking, how can you not know it?

I just pick and choose the wooden stamps, where there's isnt any price attached to it, and so I just pick afew of them ( I am lazy to take pictures of them now...will post the pictures next time...if i bother to!)..and they are really adorable..especially one of them where there's a birthday party image.

And then bought few essential things like glue dots, UHU glue and punch.

And I passed everything to my sister so that she can go help me queue up and pay using my nets, while I went to look around to see if I miss out anything.

A few minutes later, my sister came to tell me in a shocked face: " just spent 90 over dollars!"

And I was like.....O.O

And my mum was there shaking her head and asking me..." How come so few stamps can become $90 plus?!

I just shrugged. And then she asked again," Do you know how much it is at first?"

I told her no, and she looked at me in disblief. I just show her my teeth (means I smile lah...then what else can I do? Brawl my eyes out?)

And the woman at the cashier still can ask me..." You want to spend $8 more to reach $100?"

I was like...WTF?

Then she continued," Well, if you spent $100 in a single receipt, you get a free membership card for two years."

So since I spent a freakin' huge amount, i just went ahead and splurge $8 more.

And before that, I already splurge more than $40 at popular, buying stacks of papers.

And now, I spent more $$$ buying holder to put all my papers.

Thank goodness I am earning back the $$$ this week from my earnings.

Or I will be seriously broke. I already planning to spent over $200 to buy some art supplies online from USA , and ship over here.

I should supress my urge to spend $$$.. !

but still, I totally in love with the stamps I bought yesterday. So adorable.

And my favourite piece which i mentioned is the one with a birthday party want to guess how much it is?

It is ONLY SGD$20.00.

The most expensive item I bought.

That's what shocked my sis and my mum the most...and me as well.

One stamp costing $20.00?!

But thinking back, I find it funny when my sister told me after she saw the amount.

SIS : "You know when she scanned the first stamp, it is $10. Then she scanned the second one, it is $14, then the third one is $ 20 !!!!! This is CRAZY! How come a small block of wood be $20?!"

And then she looked at me...and said : " YOU ARE CRAZY!"

Birthday cards

Something that keep me occupied yesterday:
Orders for birthday cards:

And yes, it is similar to one of the designs I made a long while back.
And boy! I have been online shopping yesterday for almost half a day looking for things I need for my crafts and now, its gonna be clothes shopping. If I can find something I like.
Online shopping is better than squeezing thru' the crowds in the malls.
Brrr. I hate crowds.

Love and life

I saw this from a friend's blog:

This appears to be a long story . . . but it is worth the read
This story tells us something about..... LOVE & LIFE.

My husband is an engineer by profession.
I love him for his steady nature and...
I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.
Two years of courtship and now, five years into marriage,
I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it.
The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings.

I yearn for the romantic moments, like alittle girl yearning for candy.

My husband is my complete opposite; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about LOVE.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

'Why?' he asked, shocked. 'I am tired.
There are no reasons for everything in the world!' I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seemingly in deep thought.

My feeling of disappointment only increased.

Here was a man who was not able to even express his predicament, so what else could I expect from him?

And finally he asked me: 'What can I do to change your mind?'Somebody said it right... It's hard to change a person's personality, and Iguess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered: 'Here is the question.... If you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind.'Let's say; I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death. Will you do it for me?'
He said: 'I will give you your answer tomorrow....'

My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes....

My dear,'I would not pick that flower for you, but .... please allow me to explain the reasons further.....'

This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading...

'When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your 'good friend' approaches every month. I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism.

I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes.

I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand...and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the colour of the glow on your young face...

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do... I could not pick that flower yet, and die ... '

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting ... and as I continue reading...

'Now, that you have finished reading my answer, and if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favourite bread and fresh milk...'

I rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread....

Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, and I have decided to leave the flower alone...

That's LIFE, and LOVE.

When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.
Love shows up in all forms; even in very small and cheeky forms. It has never been a model.

It could be the dullest and most boring form ...Flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship.

Under all this, the pillar of true love stands ...
AND THAT'S LIFE The happiest people in the world... are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.
LOVE is not just between two lovers, husband and wife--it also encompasses mother, father and siblings, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbours!

Until I think of you again with the next warm life touching story... It is better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride.

Budding friendship card

I did a new card today:

Budding friendship card

I kind of like the birdhouse image, which I actually embossed it using black embossing powder and then colour it using Faber Castle colour pencils.

And thanks to my aunt who gave me the clear stamps, I used the floral border, and embossed it.

The budding friendship words is also embossed using pink embossing powder. I thought it might turn out hot pink due to the powder colour, but it turns out that way =(

And the flower, notice the middle?

I used Jo Ann glittering powder as I didn't have any pearl to match with and adding button looked REALLY weird. So thanks to my aunt again!!! The glitter can really stick to my glue without having to use my heat gun or something. =D

More snapshots:

My sister asked me to do the quiz and yea...some psychological questions thing and the results:

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Hmmmmm. True for most of it. =)

PS: I am getting better. Just a little of stomach discomfort and headache, but otherwise, Im getting better. Thanks for those who sms me. ^^

Been awfully sick

I dunno what kind of virus I have contracted with. I have been seriously sick the past week till now, seeing two doctors, eating loads of medicine and getting two injections when I am so damn scared of needles and taking sick leave from work. Now I am alittle well enough to blog, though mum was thinking of sending me to hospital as I wasnt getting any better now.

Oh well. I am alone at home on mother's day recuperating while my family went to my grandma's house to eat. And damn. I havent make a thing for mum, when she had been so into taking care of me the past week when I fell ill.

On the happier side, I got to see my good friends yesterday when I went for NTU program! And we were all talking about our own work and stuffs.

I have been getting busy with my cardmaking, neglecting my drawings. And I got an offer from someone to get into partnership to start my business...which means..really seriously have to deal with getting my own domain, and all kind of shitty admin stuffs, and I have spoken to my parents about it and they said they support my decision =D

So ironically, I never like taking business as a subject and yet I am starting one...and it means I will have my own registered domain website.

And once my university education start in august (I have already accepted the offer!), I may have to hire one person (or more if necessary) to help me with my cardmaking business.

For now, pardon about my lack of cards videos, tutorials and all.

I gonna make a mother's day card for my mum now BEFORE she got back home from my grandma's house. And it is gonna be a real surprise. hehe!

So practically, I only have two hours left to think of a design. Hmmm.

Will post it up here once I gave it to her. Big Smile

And I have to make a really special card for Dav as well. !

His birthday is only like a week's away. OMG!
