Printing on ribbons

I blog hop from Lyn's blog to Blue Jelly Too and do visit the link! Its actually a blog entry on how to print on plain ribbon and I really try it and it works!
You will have to click the picture for full view as I am lazy to enlarge it =)
Here's what I did, exactly like what Blue Jelly too did. Except that I scotch tape the ends of ribbons to the other side of the paper, and then tape the underside of the ribbons to avoid them being "unstable" when they are in printing process.
Then I use my inkjet printer to print out the pattern I want using my photoshop software. I was actually crossing fingers because my printer can be very weird sometimes. And thank goodness, it doesn't bleed at all.
The ribbons getting ready to be pull away from the paper!

Ribbons beside the paper. I am going to use the remaining pattern paper for something for my cards. I have yet to think what it is yet.

My very own printed ribbons! I love the pink ones. Hahha!
So if you ever have loads of plain ribbons, just do what I did and you will get really nice pattern on the ribbons. Some have try printing words on it, which I havent try yet, but will do so soon.
And I received my late present from dav, all the way from sovakia!

Photobucket  Photobucket

My very first plane model gift ^ ^

And I totally love the star war figure and its gun. I didn't have the heart to touch it for fear of tearing it. I couldn't possibly go to the paper exhibition where he went, which is overseas, so he made me one instead. Thank you so much, Dav! =D

Have anyone watch the video of susan boyle?
Her singing is awesome! Big Smile
It was so touching that I cried. Very meaningful.
You should watch : LINK

Time flies

For those who have know me very well, I get real paranoid when come to taking public transport to places further from east, and ALONE. And to think I am going to do that starting tomorrow, travelling all the way to bonua vista early in the morning everyday...and then back home in the evening.

I am starting work tomorrow at attached to IBN. Thank goodness they provide shuttle bus services from the MRT station. And I start work same day as Belinda! Though she's working elsewhere. lol.

Anyway...back to here, I havent been in contact with my friends ever since they either start working, or travelling overseas, or some enlisting in NS. And I come to realize how time flies so fast, when it was only like yesterday when I played five stones with eil in primary school. Or playing hopscotch, monkey a muddy field. Or running and hiding in the female toilet from a chinese teacher who always carried a cane around. I remember sitting on the toilet seat with leg crossed while a ex classmate climbed the wall in the same cubicle as me to avoid her legs being shown when the teacher came searching for us.

And in secondary school, when I always have those horrendous boyish hairstyle...(I CANT BELIEVE I CUT LIKE THAT!!! WTF!), and crushing on senior guys. hahahah! I still remember myself being so silly when I just up and went to send an email to the guy I like whom we NEVER even talk before. And now to think of it, I think I can never look at him in the face if I ever see him. And watching Monkey God during my CLB lessons. Writing letters and leaving in the special spot where my friend will reply in return.

Such memories...!

And I am..starting work tomorrow, and soon going into university. NTU still havent send any letter!!!!

I already got the offer from NUS science though. And they even send the orientation guide! And I know I always said I wanna go NTU becos of the environment and the curriculum. But after the NUS interview when the professors explained about NUS and all...I am considering.

Big headache...

Has anyone got any letter from NTU and faculty yet?

Do let me know.

Damn. I wonder how I will fare tomorrow.

PS: Anyone know where to buy cloth ribbons online or at any shop(in singapore)?

Do email me if you do have the info.

And we ended up chit chatting for thirty minutes I think. XD

And I am real addicted to restaurant city in facebook...which some may think it is a retard game. I thought so too at first, but somehow, I got addicted. *shrugged*

Cute right?

Strange dream I had last night

I got the most bizzare dream.

All I can remember is....I realized my left foot got amputated for dunno what reason, and I was struggling with crutches, to get into my wheelchair.  Then the scene changed, and i was at the counter (in clinic I think) when I was told that I have to be off for eye surgery, which has only 20 % chance of survival.

I was like WTF!? Since when my eye got problem blah blah blah...busy shouting lah...but I dunno if I shout in real to ask my sister, though she most probably the one screaming and shouting in her own sleep. Luckily..I am not a light sleeper. LOL.

Then the scene changed and I was told that it is free to go for dental checkup (some kind of promotion) but just $2 (see i can remember so well) for washing and whitening. And ended up? I pay $35.50 for SURGERY. I was like...WHAT SURGERY?And the nurse just said, "Please pay the amount and we will make an appointment for you to have a surgery next week. "

And at that point of time, my foot isn't amputated. Weird isn't it?

Ok. I dunno why my dream took me to the journey where I have to go for three surgeries. And the worst thing FELT so REAL. Seriously. When my leg was already amputated in the beginning, I can feel the frustration and the numbness of my leg.

And when I got the news of having eye surgery, my right eye felt...erm...i dunno...but I woke up, my right eye was kind of er...itchy?

And when I got the news of dental surgery..hell...i swore my front lower tooth was shaky and I can feel the soreness. But when I woke up, everything is normal.

It got me can the brain releases such powerful chemicals that can allow us to feel something even in dreams? What kind of chemicals? Is there any meaning to dreams?

Oh yea...I saw this video featured in (I think...cant remember where), of a dog sleepwalking.

I didn't know that animals dream.

So i am wondering...does fish and insects dream as well?

A thought that left me pondering.

The Mayonnaise Jar

I got this from a friend via email...really meaningful.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full... They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes'.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar,
effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life…

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions.
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and  car…

The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take loved ones out to dinner.
Go for a holiday.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life  may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with  a friend.'

so many thing so little time

I am utterly stressed out.

A thing to pay when one try to do many things in one go. But still, I enjoy it. And now, I am going to try out my new job as advertisement poster exceutive soon which the company has emailed me a while ago, after the person viewed my resume and accepted me, and I have been given a new email account. I dunno how I will fare, but I wont be able to choose the assignments they give until after they decide my performance. Oh well..hopefully I will do well..seemly because I never try being in the advertising company other than being a blogger blogging about advertisements. There's a difference between advertisement poster exceutive and blogger. But I think the pay will be sufficient for my allowance...depends on the number of advertisements I have to do.

I am now currenty under trial testing posting period, to see if I can clear the round before they can move on to assign me actual assigments.

I will be going for my second round of interview with the directors this time next week, and to admit, I am pretty nervous as compared to the first interview when I was interviewed by the human resource people. Now, its gonna be directors. How stressed can I get? I was advised to do research beforehand, and of cos I will...but seemly because I have no idea what kind of questions they gonna ask. *gulps*

Has anyone receive any acceptance letter from any uni yet? Some people from TP already got them from NUS and NTU science. I came back from my NUS science interview last monday...and its went pretty alright. More of like a chit chat session...and they were wondering why I did so badly for O level. LOL. But overall, they are really friendly and if add cups of coffee should say we will look like long lost buddies trying to catch up the lost time. ! They said I will be hearing from them next week.

God. WHy everything all dump to next week?

Ok. I am really really stressed out.

and I really hate interviews.

how to ask for more salary

I saw this in stomp forum and its pretty amusing:

One day an employee sends a letter to his boss asking for an increase in his salary!!!

Dear Bo$$

In thi$ life, we all need $ome thing mo$t de$perately. I think you
$hould be under$tanding of the need$ of u$ worker$ who have given $o much $upport including $weat and $ ervice to your company.

I am $ure you will gue$$ what I mean and re$pond $oon .

Your$ $incerely,

The next day, the employee received this letter of reply:

Dear employee,

I kNOw you have been working very hard. NOwadays, NOthing much has changed. You must have NOticed that our company is NOt doing NOticeably well as yet.

NOw the newspaper are saying the world`s leading ecoNOmists are NOt sure if the United States may go into aNOther recession. After the NOvember presidential elections things may turn bad...

I have NOthing more to add NOw. You kNOw what I mean.

interviews again.

Come to think of it. I am missing TP already...especially the food there. Yea. I know to those who are still studying there, the food is kinda sianz...but I graduated and I am missing the food!

And now, everyone is like so busy with their own work, even me myself, and there's isnt any time for me to hang out. And I am getting restless despite the bulk orders I have to make, and i am itching for books, but I don't even have the time to read.

Will be going for my NUS science interview tomorrow. And I am not even prepared. I mean...I dun even know what question they will ask right?

Oh yea! Rememeber the first round of interview I have been dreading? I just received the email and I got past the interview and had been shortlisted to go for the second round. Ok. Its isn't what I expected during the first round. The interviewers are VERY VERY friendly. And when I arrived and went to the waiting room, there's a girl who was also waiting for her turn and we were like chatting about NUS..(she's from NUS btw.) and then she went in for interview, and there's another applicant which just came in. And dunno what happen, we started chatting as well. LOL. And he started talking about his course, bioengineering (he from NUS as well), before I was being called in.

Aja aja fighting! I havent got the details for the second round yet...but I heard that the directors will be the one interviewing instead of the previous interviewers. *ok..I am nervous again*. And seemly because I have run out of what kind of question I think they might be asking. All the questions I thought of have been asked during the first round! So second round how?

I just hope it will ended up as a chit chat session over a cup of coffee. hahahah!

ok. I am dreaming.

Ok. So I have two interviews awaiting now. Wish me luck. Esp the 2nd round of interview...I really hope to get in. =D

I havent been drawing at all. I dun have any inspiration. And now, I seem to have design block on my cards as well. WTH.

Ok. This is kinda random... but I am craving for zha jiang mian. =(

My future husband better know how to cook...those DELICIOUS food. Yummy!

I watched "I propose" program last week, about a guy who actually went through the trouble of learning how to cook a delicious LOBSTER meal for his girlfriend before he propose. How romantic!

And today program is about a guy who brought his gf for yatch trip and propose right there on the ship! And a guy who brought his gf SKY DIVING and then proposed to her....this is like sooooo wow! And all of the gfs don't even know what their bfs are up to.

Its so fun and touching to watch those proposals.

My boyfriend better be that creative when the time come! Tongue

Ok. Its not that I will say "no" if he did not come up with any thing surprising or creative...but it will be a very everlasting memory if he really did the surprise proposal out of nowwhere amist the romantic / adventurous atmosphere, isn't it?
